Argentina may have gate crashed the Barbarians’ 125th Anniversary Party at Twickenham on Saturday 21st November beating them 49-31 but for Georgia Lalande, a u11 player at Streatham- Croydon RFC, it was a day to remember.
Georgia was selected to be New Zealander Ardie Savea’s mascot. Ardie is the younger brother of Julian Savea who was the highest try scorer (with 8 tries) and part of the 2015 Rugby World Cup winning team. Ardie who plays flanker for the Hurricanes in New Zealand has already represented his country at U20 and at Sevens, is hoping to break into the full New Zealand Squad soon.
Just like the Bar-bars, Georgia was resplendent in the Barbarian’s kit and her Streatham-Croydon club socks. She is an important and talented member of the u11 (mixed boys and girls) team at Streatham-Croydon and hopes to play for England one day.
Well done Georgia, we are proud of you.
